Aspen has given me the opportunity to know Lynn
for so many years and I have been
amazed and impressed by her work and creative path.
The gallery has given me a chance to really get to know her depth of work.
"The Looking Glass" has always intrigued me.
The work conveys a purposeful message, exploring beauty, gender,
and the nature of identity.
Fantasy and reality mix freely in these compositions.
Lynn transforms her identity in these very, thought provoking photographs.
They have a rich palette, layers of symbolism, and they draw you in.
I see new things in each piece as I sit in the gallery and have the time to reflect.
Lynn is an artist who has been at the forefront of performance art with her aka Will Powers
while also being an award winning portrait photographer
whose work has appeared on covers of magazines such as Rolling Stone,
Life, Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, and Interview, to name a few.
Her videos and photography are in the permanent collections of MOMA,
The Smithsonian, The Polaroid Collection, The Kodak Collection,
The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography,
The Sir Elton John Collection as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Lynn's accolades go on and on.
I will leave you with her quote that is inspiring
and resonates with me as an artist.
“Creativity is based on breaking limiting thought patterns,
busting through fear, taking risks,
and persistently working hard toward your goals,
if the individual wants to maximize their potential for a full life.”
